Armani

One can hardly find a person who has not heard the name of Giorgio Armani. The celebrity of this Italian designer can only compete with his ability to create masterpieces in the fashion world. Whether it’s clothing, jewelry or home decoration, every Armani creation is the epitome of style, charm and elegance. That is why it is difficult to believe that the appearance of the name Armani in the fashion world is no more than an accident.

The career of a designer began only with the position of an employee in the procurement department at one of Milan’s largest department stores. Nevertheless, it was there that 30-year-old Giorgio received knowledge about textiles and design, which allowed him to become a fashion designer, and after a few years – to establish his own brand of men’s clothing.The main element of the first Armani collection was elegant, classic costumes of muted shades. Brown, gray and black, they created a unique Armani style. Just a year later, in 1975, Armani released a collection of women’s clothing and began working under the name “Giorgio Armani S.p.A.” This year can be considered the starting point in the creation of today’s “Armani Empire.”

The middle of 1975 was marked by the release of youth and sports collections, a line of underwear, bathing suits, as well as a collection of accessories. Armani used a stylized eagle as a logo for sportswear, with the initials “GA” placed on it. A year later, the designer, already having a certain fame, dares to declare himself in Hollywood. It was here that he received worldwide recognition, modeling clothes for many famous actors. Among them, Richard Gere and Sean Connery, who starred in the films “Gigalo”, “Pretty Woman” and “Incorruptible” in jackets and suits from Armani. The jacket, modeled by an Italian designer, was fundamentally different from the classic “broad-shouldered” and fitted models of that time. Without non-woven seals, linings and shoulder pads, this wardrobe item has become equally convenient for both work and leisure.

Six years later, Armani opens his first company store. Designed for the average buyer, he combined the products of all brands produced at that time by Giorgio Armani S.p.A. Today, the Armani empire includes about 2,000 branded stores worldwide. And the annual turnover is about 1 billion dollars. Since 1990, the company has several divisions: “Giorgio Armani”, “Emporio Armani” and “Mani” – each of which produces products of various price categories and quality. Thus, Armani manages to focus on the needs of each segment of the population.
Today Armani presents six different clothing lines:
– Armani Junior,
– Armani Exchange,
– Armani Jeans,
– Armani Collezioni (collections for specialized stores),
– Emporio Armani (Pret-a-porter),
– line Giorgio Armani (Haute Couture).

Giorgio Armani never rested on his laurels. That is why the Armani fashion house is not only elegant clothes for men and women, but also a variety of accessories and perfumes, which are in constant demand among buyers.

Armani himself claims that he creates clothes for each of us, repeating: “Fashion exists to be worn.” Each of the collections of this amazing designer is elegant and unobtrusive – because he does not accept pomp and unnecessary details. In 73 years, Armani continues to create, gaining more and more fans with his talent. In 2002, Forbes magazine named Giorgio Armani the most successful designer in the world. And this is not surprising, because there are hardly any products more stylish and functional than from Armani.
