Hermes
Hermes Fashion House is one of the most famous and oldest Parisian Houses. The company employs more than 4640 people, in addition, in the near future it is planned to open branded boutiques in Korea, China and several European cities.
Surprisingly, the history of the company began with the enterprise for the production of bridles and saddles, founded in 1837 by Thierry Erme. And only then the company began to specialize in the creation of clothing, accessories, perfumes and other luxury goods, thereby occupying a prominent place in the world of high fashion.
For the second century Hermes has been presenting its products on the world market, during this long time the company managed to earn worldwide fame and high reputation.
Now Hermes produces various products: clothes, watches, perfumes, jewelry, and since 1984 – exquisite tableware. However, as a tribute to the past, the attributes of riding remain the brand name of a fashion house.
Especially popular all over the world today are delightful shawls, or squares, as they are called in Hermes House. Miranda Priestley from the sensational film “The Devil Wears Prada” was also especially fond of Hermes white scarves.
Weekly, the company’s designers develop three new quads, and the current, fifth in a row, head of the House, Jean-Louis Dumas-Hermes, personally controls the creation of each image (he replaced his father, Robert Dumas, in the presidency in 1978). It is also worth noting that for the color of the caret for more than 20 years only one person has been responsible – Charles-Henri.
Hermes accessories have gained not less fame in the world of world fashion: ties, bags or gloves, as well as other little things that are bought up with amazing speed. Even despite the high cost of 5-10 thousand dollars, Hermes handbags have to be ordered in a few months. And Hermes name bags have gained worldwide fame.
The current designers of the company in their work adhere to the prevailing “family” classical traditions, therefore for more than a decade “Hermes” has remained the trendsetter not only in fashion, but also in style. Things from “Hermes” have long been a sign of wealth and respectability.
Six years ago, the head of the trading house, Jean-Louis, invited a new “extremist” designer, young Belgian Martin Margiela, to Hermes. With his arrival, Hermes house collection models have changed significantly. New modern trends, departing from conservative principles, pleased Hermes customers – it allowed the company to take one of the first places in the market for ready-made dresses.
Hermes is currently Creative Director Jean-Paul Gaultier.
Many are predicting a bright future for Hermes fashion house, and it is quite possible that soon the House will be able to compete seriously with companies such as Gucci and LVMH.
