The Prada brand
The prestigious Italian brand Prada today is known to everyone and everyone thanks to the Hollywood film “The Devil Wears Prada”. Despite the solid history of the brand, which was founded back in 1913, world fame came to it relatively recently.

The brand’s history began with the Fratelli Prada (Brothers Prada) company, which owned an elite travel suitcase factory. Mario Prada, the founder of the brand, focused on wealthy customers using walrus leather for his products. His daughter Louise, who took over the management of the company in 1958, expanded the range of products: luxury bags made of python and crocodile leather, inlaid with rhinestones and shells of turtles, were in demand in Europe and America.
However, by the 70s of the XX century, the demand for such excesses fell sharply, which led to the decline of the company. Everything changed in 1978, when the company was headed by the granddaughter of Mario Prada – Miuccia and her husband Patricio Bertelli.
The revival of the brand Prada
Spouses managed not only to revive the company, but to turn it into a powerful empire, and the Prada brand into one of the most influential in the fashion world! My husband dealt with the financial side of things, and Miuccia – design.

She radically changed the approach to the design of the company’s products, making elegant, restrained and concise style the main advantage of the brand’s products. In the first collection of women’s handbags, she refused heavy leather in favor of lightweight nylon and an elegant shape, and was not mistaken: she was waiting for success! Bold experiments with new materials are a characteristic feature of the work of Miuccia Prada.
Having decided not to stop there, in 1989 Miuccia launched the pret-a-porte clothing line, the distinguishing feature of which was its exquisite cut, clear lines and dark, mainly black tones of materials: elegant, original and completely unlike what was offered other fashion designers at the time! The courage and creativity of Miuccia Prada allowed the brand to reach the forefront of fashion: it itself created trends!

Three years later, the first youth clothing collection of the Prada House, released under the Miu Miu brand, was released: fun, practical, affordable! In 1997, the Prada Sport line of sportswear was launched, and the next year, the Miu Miu men’s collection, which includes not only clothes, but also shoes and bags. At the beginning of the new, 21st century, Prada Beauty cosmetics appeared, and the first fragrance was Prada Eau de Parfum (2004). The main note in the created composition of the fragrance belonged to amber. The amber theme was developed in subsequent versions of perfume – Prada Intense (2005), Prada Man (aka Prada Amber Pour Homme) (2006), Prada Eau Tendre (2006).
Brand Rada today
Today, the Prada empire produces clothes, shoes, bags, accessories, cosmetics and luxury perfumes under several brands: Prada Donna, Prada Uomo, Miu Miu, Car Shoe, Alaia, Azzedine and others. The Prada brand is famous for the consistently high quality of its products and is one of those rare companies that have not moved their workshops to Asian countries, so the cost of products is high.

Miuccia Prada has become one of the most influential people in Olympus fashion, whose corporate identity has become minimalism, combined with innovative experiments in the field of form and materials used.
The vibrant summer 2011 collection has become a leader not only on the catwalk, but also in gloss: 77 times photos of catchy summer models from Prada graced the covers of various fashion magazines! The contrasting, joyful stripes on the hats, dresses, bags and shoes that create a positive attitude seem to have convinced the whole world that only joy in this life awaits us! Such a striped life suits us!
In the fall – winter 2011-2012 collection from Prada everything is unusual: clothes, shoes, accessories! Huge glasses, thick leather hats, fur clothes and amazing boots that look like shoes worn over leather stockings – all this is new, extraordinary and very interesting!

The uniqueness of the Prada brand lies in the fact that the products do not have recognizable styles and models that made it once popular, or special types of finishes and materials: each time a new collection is created, in which there are no analogues of previous models!
A feature of the brand is also a collaboration with architects and contemporary artists who design brand boutiques for exclusive projects. In Milan, the Fondazione Prada Center for Contemporary Art and Culture has been established, which hosts brand seasonal shows twice a year, and the rest of the time it is used as an exhibition hall. Only a combination with art and architecture allowed the brand Prada
