The history of this Fashion House began with a hat boutique, which opened in 1890 in Paris. At that time, hats, varied in color, style, decoration, were an obligatory part of the women’s toilet. Jeanne Lanvin, the owner of the new atelier, was an outstanding woman. Her nature combined the talent of a fashion designer, the ability to conduct her own, albeit small, business, and the ease of easy communication. She did not limit herself to the production of hats, albeit expensive and sophisticated. A little time after the opening of the hat atelier, Jeanne Lanvin began to sew women’s clothing that was impeccably tailored and styled.
