Hubert de Givenchy, the french high-end French fashion designer, is the benchmark for sophisticated elegance, impeccable taste and beauty. His work was a success on a planetary scale thanks to his talent and desire to create “luxury for all”: he was the first to produce extra-class ready-made clothes, arguing that “luxury has a future only if it is democratized”.
Hubert de Givenchy was born in Beauvais on February 21, 1927 in the family of a pilot who died when his son was two years old. Mother dreamed of a lawyer career for him, but Hubert decided to connect his life with the art of costume after a trip to the fair in 1937. The exposition of the Fashion Pavilion, where the works of the 30 best fashion houses in France were presented, was simply fascinated! Interest in the costume was not accidental, because his grandfather in his youth was a student of the famous painter Camille Corot, then – the head of the production of decorative fabrics and a collector of historical costumes, flags and furniture, and his sisters were engaged in the manufacture of clothes for a fashion store.
