A young man whose childhood passed with his parents in Normandy quickly decides to drop out of his studies at the prestigious School of Political Sciences in order to devote himself to art. In 1928, he opened an art gallery where he exhibited paintings by such great artists as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali and Jean Cocteau. Returning from military service in 1935, Christian begins to sell sketches of hats and dresses for fashion houses. He then works as an illustrator in the French magazine Illustrated Figaro.
