Coco Chanel Fashion

“She made history in her own way, dressing the street, stars, queens,” wrote Edward Charles-Roux about Gabrielle Chanel. And the point is not that the great Coco became a classic during his lifetime. The point is the special nature of its modeling, where all the inspirations of creative nature had their origins in “vital unrest and the twinkles of being.”

Gabrielle Chanel was born in 1883 (but she told everyone that in 1993). At six years old, she lost her mother, and a little later her father abandoned her and her four other brothers. Therefore, she had to live in a shelter for several years. In her youth, Chanel worked as a clothing seller and sang in a cabaret. It was the songs she sang that caused her to be nicknamed Coco. Thanks to her lover, she managed to open her women’s hat store in Paris in 1910. By 1919, her influence in the fashion world was already very great. It was copied, there was no end to orders, and its customers were people from all over the world. Continue reading

Kenzo brand

The famous Kenzo brand was founded by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada, who came to Paris to realize his dream of becoming a fashion designer in 1965.

His fate is like a fairy tale: born in a village in one of the Japanese provinces in 1939, the fifth child in the family of the owner of the tea house became a revolutionary European costume, one of the most notable designers of the XX century. Isn’t that a miracle?

Kenzo Takada’s interest in costume arose at school, but at the insistence of his father he had to go to Kobe Gaibo University, the faculty of English literature. Here he did not last long – only one semester. After leaving school, he left for Tokyo, where he entered the oldest Japanese school of fashion designers Bunka Gakuen. He was not embarrassed by the fact that it was a women’s educational institution, and he was the first young man in the entire history of his existence. Continue reading

Gucci Brand

The world famous brand Gucci (Gucci) recently celebrated its ninetieth anniversary. In the history of this brand, as in Italian cinema, there was everything: happy moments of fame and high points, ups and downs, scandals and investigations, the struggle for inheritance, the betrayal of loved ones and so on. Gucci House was a family business, so conflicts and disagreements were inevitable among temperamental relatives.

The founder of the Gucci brand was Guccio Gucci (1881-1953), who in 1921 opened a workshop in Florence for the production of leather suitcases with money earned in London. He worked there as a simple elevator for 10 years at the Savoy Hotel. It was there, when observing the luggage of the guests, he came up with a happy thought to open his own business in the manufacture of high-quality, prestigious suitcases, and then – bags and moccasins.
